LFG-to-RNG Facility

Neogenyx Fuels developed, owns, and operates the Forward LFGTE power facility at Republic Services’ Forward Landfill near Manteca, California. The 4.3 MWe facility captures naturally occurring landfill gas and converts it into renewable electricity – transforming what was previously flared into dependable, dispatchable power delivered to Silicon Valley Power for Bay Area homes and businesses.
The facility extracts raw landfill gas and processes it through gas cleaning systems before distributing it to two internal combustion engine generators, producing ~31.8 GWh of renewable electricity annually – enough to power roughly 2,550 local homes. Achieving commercial operation in 2014, the plant converts what was once flared into a renewable energy resource for the California grid.
Located within the jurisdiction of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District – one of the strictest air quality districts in California – the project advances Republic Services’ sustainability goals while improving air quality for surrounding agricultural communities. Benefits include:
