The name Neogenyx Fuels was chosen with intention: equal parts ambition and credibility. Pronounced nee‑OH‑JEN‑iks, it draws from two Greek roots: neos, meaning new and signaling what comes next, and genos, meaning lineage or generation. Together, our name conveys the next generation of fuels, born from a proven lineage of biofuel development and operations – what comes next, built on what already works.

Michael T. Bakas, Chief Executive Officer | Neogenyx Fuels (Ex-Officio)
Michael Bakas is Chief Executive Officer of Neogenyx Fuels – a premier developer, owner, and operator of advanced fuel solutions accelerating the global energy transition. Mr. Bakas has been the catalyst behind Neogenyx Fuels, which was established in 2026 as a spin‑off of Ameresco’s (NYSE: AMRC) biofuels business, which he started back in 2000, to scale the next chapter of alternative fuel generation assets.
A member of Ameresco’s founding management team, Mr. Bakas has shaped the company’s renewable fuels strategy for more than two decades. With over 35 years of experience across energy infrastructure development, he has led the build‑out of one of the nation’s most robust organic development pipelines of complex renewable fuel facilities, including landmark landfill gas‑to‑energy and landfill gas‑to‑RNG projects. His leadership helped establish Ameresco as a national leader in renewable fuels, earning recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, the California Legislature, and leading industry organizations. In 2024, the California Legislature recognized Ameresco for developing the largest landfill gas‑to‑RNG project in the state.
Mr. Bakas pioneered some of the earliest advanced clean energy projects under State mandated renewable portfolio standards, beginning in Massachusetts in 2001 with Ameresco’s first biogas‑to‑energy facility. He has played a sustained leadership role in advancing renewable fuels policy and market adoption and has served in advisory and governance roles with the ACT-The Alliance for Climate Transition, the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas, Microgrid Knowledge, and the Advanced Energy Group. Frequently engaged by investors, policymakers, and the media, he is a recognized authority on renewable fuels markets, infrastructure investment, and energy transition strategy, and a regular speaker at leading financial, policy, and industry forums.
An industry expert, he is regularly sought out for thought leadership by numerous national media outlets, publications, and magazines and is frequently quoted in industry and business publications such as Forbes, Fortune Magazine, Distributed Energy Magazine, and Microgrid Knowledge.
Over his career, Mr. Bakas has been tapped to provide his expertise and guidance regarding energy issues throughout the United States and to participate in discussions setting direction for Federal, state, and local energy policy including, but not limited to, providing expert testimony before the Clean Air Congressional Roundtable at the U.S. Capitol.
Mr. Bakas holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MBA from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management.
George P. Sakellaris, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board | Ameresco
George Sakellaris is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE: AMRC), a leading energy infrastructure solutions provider. A visionary entrepreneur, he founded Ameresco in 2000 with the goal of creating a product neutral, supplier independent energy company capable of addressing a customer’s full energy ecosystem. Today, the company is dedicated to helping customers reduce costs, improve resilience, and decarbonize as part of the global energy transition – integrating energy efficiency, supply and demand management, and renewable energy solutions.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Sakellaris held leadership roles at New England Electric System (NEES), where he established NEES Energy to advance energy efficiency as an alternative to new generation. In 1991, he acquired the business and renamed it NORESCO, building it into a leading independent energy services company. Following its sale to Equitable Resources in 1997, he continued to lead NORESCO and served as a Senior Vice President at Equitable Resources (NYSE: EQT), a Fortune 500 energy company.
Mr. Sakellaris holds an MBA and an MSEE from Northeastern University and a BSEE from the University of Maine. He has received numerous honors for his leadership and impact, including an honorary doctorate from the University of Maine, induction into the Francis Crowe Society Hall of Fame, and several national awards recognizing his lifetime contributions to energy efficiency and clean energy advancement.
David Corrsin, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary | Ameresco
David Corrsin is Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Ameresco, a leading energy infrastructure solutions provider. He is also the Corporate Secretary and is a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Corrsin has extensive experience with energy regulations, federal, state and local regulatory authorities, and complex energy construction and financing projects, gained through more than 23 years of energy-related legal practice. He oversees financial and regulatory issues of independent power, utility and energy conservation projects for Ameresco.
Mr. Corrsin was formerly an executive vice president of Public Power International, Inc., an independent developer of power projects in south Asia and Europe. Prior to joining PPI, he held various positions at Palmer & Dodge, LLP, where he co-founded the Palmer & Dodge Energy Group and represented independent power and energy conservation developers in the U.S. and overseas. Mr. Corrsin has also held positions at Chadbourne & Parke, Hudson Research, and the National Wildlife Federation; each position having a focus on energy.
Mr. Corrsin earned a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago and an A.B. degree in biology from Brown University.
Nickolas Stavropoulos , President and Chief Operating Officer (Retired) | Pacific Gas and Electric Company
Most recently, Nickolas Stavropoulos served as president and chief operations officer of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) – a position he held from March 2017 through September 2018. Under his leadership, PG&E solidified its reputation as one of the most reliable utilities in the United States. Mr. Stavropoulos originally joined PG&E in 2011 and held two other leadership positions in its gas organization. At the time of his departure, PG&E’s gas business was the only North American utility to have earned or qualified for the industry’s four third-party certifications for safety.
Before joining Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Mr. Stavropoulos served as executive vice president and COO of National Grid from 2007 through 2011. Mr. Stavropoulos has also held senior leadership roles at KeySpan Energy Delivery, Colonial Gas Company and Boston Gas.
Jeffrey A. Lipson, President and CEO | HASI
Jeff Lipson is President and Chief Executive Officer of HASI. As CEO, he focuses on developing and executing all aspects of the company’s strategy as a leading sustainable infrastructure investor advancing the energy transition.
Prior to becoming HASI’s CEO, Mr. Lipson served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2019 to 2023 and additionally held the role of Chief Operating Officer from 2021 to 2023. Previously, Mr. Lipson was President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Congressional Bank (now Forbright Bank). He also held various senior roles at CapitalSource, Bank of America, and its predecessor, FleetBoston Financial.
Mr. Lipson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Annmarie Reynolds, Senior Managing Director and Co-Chief Investment Officer | HASI
Annmarie Reynolds is Senior Managing Director and Co-Chief Investment Officer of HASI. She is responsible for building and growing the company’s investments in markets beyond current asset classes.
Prior to joining HASI in 2022, she served as Chief Customer Officer, Chief Commercial Officer—U.S. and Eurasia, Chief Risk Officer, and Managing Director—Climate Solutions of The AES Corporation, where she worked for 22 years. Prior to that, she worked for several years as an energy trader and engineer at New York State Electric and Gas.
Ms. Reynolds received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey.
